As we're driving north I can't help but keep wondering why. Why? Why in the world are we leaving this beautiful place?! The weather is amazing! This place is utterly gorgeous! We must be crazy to be going! Alas, going we are.
It's a good bit of driving up to West Virginia and we stayed a night in North Carolina along the way.

Next day as we arrived in Virginia we got out and walked around a bit at the welcome center.

Then on to West Virginia only... well... it wasn't going to be so easy to stop and get out for this one. We realized on the map as we were getting close where we'd be when we crossed the state line...

Not really the type of sign you pull over to take a picture of. Thanks to Bonnie being on her toes, however, we got this picture at least!
We drove through Charleston, the most unique state capitol city I think we've seen, and then on to the boondocks to our AirBnb!
Outside quickly became the place to be here!
