But we spent the first 20+ minutes in the lobby before even going in. Why? This is why:
With at least six unique paths the balls could roll, this machine was fascinating! And not just for the kids! I loved it too!
This museum has 4 floors and I won't overwhelm this post with pictures of it all, but a full day here wasn't quite enough.
Rebekah appears to be up to my elbow in this pic. It's one of those perspective things that looks all skewed, but from a certain angle, it makes big things seem smaller and small things bigger.
This was one of Rebekah's favorite spots. The mirrors and lights made it seem to go on and on. Or maybe she just liked playing peek-a-boo when she wasn't quite sure where I actually was.

The science center was deliberately chose and timed because it was fairly close -- 15-minutes-ish -- from the Birmingham Alabama Temple. We love the temple and try to stay places where we'll have the opportunity to go at least once, if not more, each month. Some temples are large, some are small like this one, and we believe each is a House of the Lord. With the new year upon us, this was a meaningful time to attend, feel close to Him, and learn.
The lovely Birmingham temple
When we got home, it was time for the yumminess!

A fun birthday for a fun, energetic five year old boy!
