Wurstfest in New Braunfels

Today began with some me-time, reading my scriptures out on the back porch. It was 63 degrees, foggy, and beautiful!

Putting my feet up

Someone saw me

I may be smitten, but with good reason

Caught another visitor running along the fence

Amy made French Toast for breakfast -- I'll have to show you our awesome chart later! Then we spent the first bit of school doing "budget class." We have printed sheets for each child to help them track our main categories.

Budget sheet for the kiddos

Hopefully this will help them learn some of the day-to-day life skill of it!

We'll do it most each morning going forward, but we weren't ready before we left, so it was a bit loooong today. Then kids had geography class and ? class.

I ran to the store for some things we missed, e.g. a printer cable and some nail clippers!, and then for the evening: Wurstfest! It's an annual festival here in New Braunfels.

People (not us) dressed for the ocassion

Such handsome little guys in their getups

This man has Shawn Bradley beat!

Excited to ride the swings

This park is beautiful. The girls too in their balloon jewelry and funny poses

Beautiful bridge over the river

On the way home, we got a surprise.

A herd of deer walking along the road

I didn't get great pics of them, but we saw about 8 deer, including one buck. We wouldn't have guessed there would be deer strolling around New Braunfels, but there are!
